The FPM 40x62x8 AO Double Lip Oil Seal FKM Viton® is a radial shaft sealing solution designed for applications involving high temperatures, oils, fuels and aggressive chemicals. Its AO (TC) double lip design combines a spring-loaded primary sealing lip with an auxiliary dust lip, ensuring effective lubricant retention while preventing contamination. Manufactured from FPM (FKM, Viton®), it is widely used in engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, industrial pumps, compressors, heavy machinery and OEM equipment, delivering reliable sealing performance and extended service life under demanding operating conditions.
The FPM 40x62x8 AO Double Lip Oil Seal is a radial shaft seal manufactured from FPM (FKM, Viton®) fluoroelastomer. The dimensions 40x62x8 mm represent a 40 mm shaft diameter, 62 mm outside diameter, and 8 mm width. The AO (TC) design incorporates two sealing lips: a primary spring-loaded sealing lip that retains lubricants and a secondary dust lip that protects the sealing area against dirt, dust and moisture.
The FPM 40x62x8 AO Oil Seal is commonly used in:
Product Type: Radial Shaft Oil Seal
Design: AO (TC) Double Lip
Material: FPM / FKM (Viton®)
Shaft Diameter: 40 mm
Outside Diameter: 62 mm
Width: 8 mm
Primary Sealing Lip: Spring-loaded
Secondary Dust Lip: Yes

The FPM (FKM) sealing material provides excellent resistance to:
FPM (FKM) is designed for demanding sealing applications where conventional NBR materials cannot provide sufficient thermal or chemical resistance.
Key advantages include:
The 40x62x8 AO FPM Oil Seal is widely used where both reliable lubricant retention and protection against external contamination are required. The additional dust lip helps prevent dirt and moisture from entering the sealing area, improving equipment reliability and extending component life.
Before installation, verify:
Correct installation significantly increases seal life and minimizes the risk of leakage.
AO (TC) identifies a double lip radial shaft seal featuring a spring-loaded primary sealing lip and an additional dust lip.
Yes. FKM is the international ASTM material designation, while FPM is the equivalent ISO/DIN designation. Viton® is a registered trademark for a family of FKM fluoroelastomers.
Yes. FPM provides excellent resistance to gasoline, diesel fuel, oils and many industrial chemicals.
Yes. The standard operating temperature range is approximately -20°C to +200°C, depending on the application.
